The topics of the final theses, which are written in our division, are broadly diversified and located within the fields of rural communication, consultation, agricultural advisory services and adult education, in Germany, and abroad. Almost all theses are empirical studies and they usually combine a social science component with a professional matter background from agriculture or rural development etc. This means that the thesis may be both, a work on a subject matter and at the same time an in-depth look into social science research methodology or the application and implementation of the subject content in the context of a developement project or any other 'practice case', which is analysed and recommendations are derived.
When choosing a topic, we are happy to consider student suggestions and support the development of one's own research topic. If we receive enquiries or if current topics are very suitable for a thesis in our field, we publish them as 'Topics for Bachelor Theses' or 'Topics for Master Theses'. Of course we will help you to find a topic if you do not have a concrete idea yet.
In the 'Guidelines' we have compiled information to answer most of your questions about the preparation of a research paper, bachelor's or master's thesis.
